Lean Manufacturing Engineer | Grandville, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in Grandville seeking experienced Lean Manufacturing Engineers. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen).
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and implement standard work procedures to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
  • Design and optimize production layouts and material flow to reduce lead times and improve productivity.
  • Train and mentor manufacturing teams on Lean principles and tools.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Lean initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and achieve operational excellence.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience implementing Lean methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., Arena, Flex Sim)
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
