Job Description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of experience in construction‑related electrical engineering, with strong skills in project planning, design, code compliance, and field collaboration. Must hold Engineer in Training classification, PE License preferred. This role plays a key part in ensuring technical accuracy, supporting project execution, and delivering value to our clients through full‑cycle engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Research, design, and develop electrical systems and components for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Project Management: Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Oversight: Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
  • Calculations and Specifications: Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
  • Collaboration: Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
  • Documentation: Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering studies or projects.
  • Budgeting: Budgeting and proposal writing for various size projects including Value Engineering.
  • Additional Areas of Focus: Lighting and power design, arc flash studies, short circuit studies, “as built” drawings, and safety program expertise.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction‑related electrical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Michigan electrical code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Engineer In Training designation required, active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Michigan or progress to obtain PE (Preferred).
  • LEED Certification (Preferred)
Preferred Software Experience
  • Revit (BIM)
  • SKM Power Tools or ETAP
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
  • Lighting and photometric software (e.g., AGi
    32)
  • Energy modeling tools (e.g., Trace 700, Energy Plus)
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office‑based with occasional job site visits.
  • Must be able to navigate active construction environments.
  • Ability to work under project deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
