Project Manager II - Installation

PURPOSE

Under general supervision, oversees various systems projects of a highly complex nature; assembles project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project.

• Provides project management oversight and direction to ensure overall success of large, highly complex, multi-platform initiatives by developing appropriate project implementation plans that may include scope, goals, scheduling and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management.
• Estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and determines the need for additional staff and/or consultants and makes appropriate request for additional personnel.
• Plans, schedules and tracks project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentation.
• Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas.
• Collaborates to develop, and appropriately execute, a communication strategy, including stakeholder analysis, ongoing communications and adoption plans.
• Negotiates with department managers, when necessary, regarding the support of required personnel within the company to ensure project continuity through completion.
• Seeks opportunities to improve productivity, cost containment and improve project performance.
• Manages relationships across organization and divisions to develop a thorough understanding of core business functions and align project with overall business objectives.
• Conducts quality assurance audits in support of project quality plan, including project post-mortem assessments and suggest improvements in process or procedure.
• Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and four (4) years experience in system analysis/programming and/or project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Established strategic and critical analysis skills
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
• ficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle with experience in Java, J2EE, HTML, JSP, XML, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Windows AIX, Enterprise technologies, Web applications, portals and collaboration sites
