Position SummaryThe Customer Service Support Representative (CSSR) serves as the primary point of contact for customers calling or emailing DTS Fluid Power, handling order inquiries, quotes, product questions, and account support. This is primarily a phone- and inside-sales-based role, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to learn our product lines and systems quickly. Prior experience with fluid power or hydraulic components is a plus but not required — training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Answer inbound customer calls and emails regarding orders, pricing, availability, and account status.
- Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner using Prophet 21.
- Prepare and follow up on quotes for any and all parts and services provided.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions, escalating technical questions to sales or technical staff as needed.
- Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and outside sales teams to resolve order issues, backorders, and delivery questions.
- Maintain accurate customer records and order documentation in the CRM/ERP system.
- Proactively follow up with customers on open quotes, orders, and accounting needs to support sales goals.
- Handle customer complaints or escalations professionally, working toward timely resolution.
- Stay current on product offerings, promotions, and pricing through internal training.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree a plus.
- 1+ years of customer service, inside sales, or call center experience.
- Experience with hydraulics, fluid power, or industrial/mechanical products preferred but not required.
- Strong phone etiquette and verbal/written communication skills.
- Comfortable learning and using order entry, CRM, or ERP software.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses, or fittings.
- Prior experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or industrial supply environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
