Position Summary
The Irrigation Service Technician performs seasonal services, system inspections, and repairs while following company standards for quality, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- The Irrigation Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and/or commercial irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution and healthy landscapes.
- This role requires strong attention to detail, a troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Perform spring startups, mid-season inspections, and winterizations.
- Adjust and program standard and smart irrigation controllers.
- Identify potential system issues and address them proactively.
- Follow directions from the team leader and communicate clearly with the team.
- Communicate findings, repairs, and recommendations to supervisors and/or customers in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate service records, material usage, and job documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards on job sites.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and service vehicles.
- Assist with other landscape maintenance or irrigation tasks as needed.
- Previous irrigation experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and components (pipes, valves, sprinklers) or willingness to learn.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving mindset.
- Ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; chauffeur’s license preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- 1–3 years of irrigation installation, maintenance, or repair experience.
- Experience with smart irrigation controllers and water management technology.
- Commercial irrigation experience.
Physical Requirements
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Physical labor including digging, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in trenches.
- Occasional early mornings or extended hours during peak irrigation season.
- Weekly pay.
