Irrigation Service Technician - Full Time - Year Round

Position Summary

The Irrigation Service Technician performs seasonal services, system inspections, and repairs while following company standards for quality, safety, and customer service.

• The Irrigation Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and/or commercial irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution and healthy landscapes.
• This role requires strong attention to detail, a troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Perform spring startups, mid-season inspections, and winterizations.
• Adjust and program standard and smart irrigation controllers.
• Identify potential system issues and address them proactively.

• Follow directions from the team leader and communicate clearly with the team.
• Communicate findings, repairs, and recommendations to supervisors and/or customers in a professional manner.
• Maintain accurate service records, material usage, and job documentation.

• Follow all safety procedures and company standards on job sites.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and service vehicles.
• Assist with other landscape maintenance or irrigation tasks as needed.

• Previous irrigation experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and components (pipes, valves, sprinklers) or willingness to learn.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; chauffeur’s license preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

• 1–3 years of irrigation installation, maintenance, or repair experience.
• Experience with smart irrigation controllers and water management technology.
• Commercial irrigation experience.

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Physical labor including digging, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in trenches.
• Occasional early mornings or extended hours during peak irrigation season.
