Are you a hands‑on, experienced individual who enjoys varied, practical work and takes pride in quality results? We’re looking for a skilled Cabin Fitter to join our dedicated JP Accommodation Team at our Grangemouth Depot. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and repairing portable accommodation units to ensure they are safe, functional, and customer‑ready.
How This Role Supports The Delivery Of Hire SolutionsYour work directly supports our ability to deliver reliable, high‑quality hire solutions. By keeping our accommodation units in top condition and reducing turnaround time, you help ensure customers receive clean, compliant, and fully operational cabins when and where they need them.
Key Responsibilities:- A key part of the role will involve the preparation, refurbishment, painting, finishing and quality control of accommodation cabins, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard and ready for hire
- Carry out a range of practical tasks including joinery, plumbing, painting, welding, and minor electrical work
- Fit out, refurbish, and repair accommodation units to meet customer specifications
- Prepare units for hire by ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality
- Monitor stock levels and ensure materials and equipment are ready for upcoming jobs
- Assist with installation and removal of cabins on‑site when required
- Follow Health & Safety procedures and complete safety checks as part of routine tasks
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used
- Work closely with your team to meet operational targets and deliver excellent customer service
We’d love to see the following skills and experience from our applicants:
- Previous experience in a similar role involving accommodation fitting, maintenance, or related duties.
- Basic joinery and plumbing skills are essential.
- Ability to perform a range of tasks to a high standard, often under time pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective team player who works well with others.
- A valid CSCS card is desirable but not essential.
N.B.:
Applicants are expected to supply their own basic hand tools. Jarvie Plant will provide all necessary specialist tools, PPE, and branded workwear.
