Reimbursement Analyst

Location: Granger, Indiana (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reimbursement Analyst to join our healthcare finance team in Granger, Indiana. This hybrid role is ideal for a finance professional with a background in healthcare reimbursement who thrives in a fast-paced hospital or health system environment. The Reimbursement Analyst will be responsible for analyzing third-party payer reimbursements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing revenue recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Reimbursement & Revenue Analysis

  • Analyze payments from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers to ensure accurate reimbursement

  • Identify underpayments and coordinate appeals or corrections

  • Monitor reimbursement trends and variances

Cost Reporting & Regulatory Compliance

  • Assist in preparation and review of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state reimbursement regulations

  • Monitor regulatory updates and assess financial impact

Contract & Payer Analysis

  • Interpret managed care contracts and reimbursement methodologies

  • Model financial impact of contract terms and rate changes

  • Support managed care negotiations with financial data and analysis

Financial Reporting & Forecasting

  • Prepare reimbursement analysis reports for leadership

  • Support month-end and year-end close related to reimbursement revenue

  • Assist with audits and documentation requests

Collaboration

  • Work closely with revenue cycle, billing, coding, and finance teams

  • Provide guidance on reimbursement policies and procedures

  • Support process improvement initiatives to maximize revenue capture

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required)

  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare reimbursement or hospital finance experience (required)

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer reimbursement methodologies

  • Experience with hospital cost reporting preferred

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with in a hospital or health system setting

  • Familiarity with reimbursement models such as DRGs and APCs

    • Experience working with payer contracts and managed care agreements
