The Director of IS Technology at Beacon Health System in Granger, IN, leads the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure. Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including system operations, database administration, help desk, and support services.
  • Serve as project manager for infrastructure projects, providing schedules, progress reports, and oversight to align with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement ITIL best practices, providing education and training across the organization.
  • Create short‑ and long‑term goals, objectives, and annual budgets, monitoring expenditures for fiscal control.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and evaluate team members; oversee orientation and ongoing training.
  • Establish and enforce quality, efficiency, and timeliness standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IS Security and Information Security to ensure a secure infrastructure that meets regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain communications with end‑user departments and vendors, facilitating services that meet their needs.
  • Develop comprehensive status reports for senior management and provide technical guidance to department staff.
  • Contribute to departmental effectiveness through customer service, contract negotiation, system integration, process improvement, and participation in committees and task forces.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible management experience in a large healthcare organization (preferably with multiple sites), including three to five years managing system‑wide computer applications.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, modern data processing theory, network engineering, database management, and information security.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, backup technologies, SAN, and related technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in communicating effectively (verbal and written) and in training end users and vendors.
  • Customer‑service orientation and ability to work under a 24/7 computer operations environment.
