Location: South Bend, IN (100% Onsite)
Salary: $87,000 to $95,000
Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the organization's financial operations while partnering closely with the Executive Director and leadership team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and the long-term financial health of the organization.
The Controller will oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, audits, internal controls, and grant funding while providing leadership to the finance and administrative teams. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Lead all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and present financial results to executive leadership and the Board.
- Develop and monitor the annual operating budget and long-term financial plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and grant funding requirements.
- Oversee financial audits, internal controls, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, investments, and financial forecasting.
- Oversee accounts payable, fund transfers, check runs, and general accounting operations.
- Monitor grants and other funding sources to ensure proper financial reporting and compliance..
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, audits, and internal controls.
- Experience with grant accounting or grant-funded organizations is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
