Library Assistant, Part-time (Library Desk Assistant)
This position responds to customer needs by creating new library accounts, registering new customers, checking library materials in and out by using an automated circulation system, assisting customers in locating books and other materials; answering customer questions, and assisting customers with computer and other library services. The Library Assistant also performs basic clerical duties.
Minimum qualifications include the ability to embrace great customer service by displaying a professional business attitude with a pleasant demeanor; ability to learn a variety of library procedures and practices; experience with computers using Google and Microsoft applications; must have a GED or high school diploma.
Starting pay is $15.75 per hour, 20 hours per week; hours vary – will work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.

** Personal days for new hires: employees who start between July 1 and November 1 receive 1 personal day through December 31. Employees hired after November 1 will not receive personal days until January 1 following their hire date.
* Vacation amount increases with longevity. Vacation does not carry over year to year; it is earned and then used the following year. Vacations are taken annually between January 1 and December 31.
