We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team located at our office in Granite City, IL
. Our ideal candidate is someone who has 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design‑Build Engineer or in a similar role, a self‑starter with a strong sense of leadership, direction, and commitment to our projects.

Primary responsibilities
  • Leading mechanical design and implementation projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Designing, specifying, and selecting mechanical systems and components, considering energy efficiency, cost, and regulatory compliance.
  • Performing load calculations, airflow analyses, and other technical assessments to inform system sizing and design.
  • Ensuring all designs meet relevant local and international codes, standards, and safety regulations, including ASHRAE, LEED, and NFPA standards.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical documents, including design drawings, specifications, equipment selections and submittals, and cost estimates.
  • Overseeing installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Collaborating with clients and owners to understand project requirements and provide technical support and recommendations.
Primary qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related accredited engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering design or design‑build experience focused on HVAC and piping systems; plumbing knowledge is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation is a plus.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) and building management systems (BMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal and external teams.
  • Proven experience in mentoring junior engineers and guiding teams to success.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well both in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail under multiple deadlines and duties.
