VDC Specialist - Mechanical Plumbing

Granite City, IL.

We are currently looking for a VDC Specialist to join our VDC team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of experience with plumbing design and fabrication.

• Generating detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of plumbing systems within the overall building model.
• Designing and modeling plumbing systems based on P&IDs, design drawings, or engineering markups.
• Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.
• Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.
• Supporting the field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.
• Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project codes, specifications, and standards.

• An associate’s degree in applied science and/or equivalent relevant experience in CAD drafting, engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in plumbing design, VDC, or a related field.
• Knowledge of IPC, UPC, or other plumbing codes.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner.
• Willingness to travel on an as‑needed basis for project needs and team collaboration.
• A strong ability to work within deadline‑driven environments while maintaining consistent attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and capability to work effectively independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in identifying potential problems or risks and developing creative solutions.

• Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000
