This is a full-time, on-site role for Railway Mechanics and Electricians located in Granite City, IL. Team members will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair railcars, locomotives, and related mechanical and electrical systems, including brakes, couplers, wiring, motors, and control components. Daily tasks include performing scheduled maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, replacing parts, conducting safety checks, and documenting work performed in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

The role requires working with hand and power tools, reading technical diagrams and manuals, and collaborating with other technicians and supervisors to ensure rail equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial outdoor environment, following strict safety procedures, and occasionally responding to urgent repair needs on varying shifts.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, preferably in rail, heavy equipment, or industrial settings.
• Electrical skills, including basic wiring, component testing, and familiarity with motors, controls, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals, and work orders, and to accurately document completed tasks.
• Commitment to safety practices, including use of PPE, adherence to safety protocols, and awareness of OSHA or similar regulations.
• Physical ability to work in an industrial environment, including lifting, climbing, working outdoors in varying weather, and standing for extended periods.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, and collaborate with diverse colleagues.
• Prior experience in rail operations, mechanical trades, or industrial electrical work is beneficial.
• Relevant technical training or certification in mechanics, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
