Landfill Site Attendant

The Landfill Site Attendant assists customers using the Wallowa County Landfill, determines disposal charges, collects payments, maintains transaction records, prepares deposits, and helps ensure incoming materials are disposed of properly and safely.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Greet customers and provide information about landfill services, fees, and disposal requirements.
• Evaluate incoming loads and determine appropriate disposal charges.
• Collect payments, issue receipts, and accurately maintain transaction records.
• Balance daily receipts and prepare deposits.
• Direct customers to appropriate disposal and recycling areas.
• Monitor incoming materials for prohibited or restricted items.
• Help maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient landfill operation.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will be dependable, trustworthy, comfortable handling money, good with basic math, and able to work independently
. Strong customer service and communication skills are important.

Previous experience with customer service, cash handling, cashiering, or solid waste operations is preferred but not required.
On-the-job training will be provided.
