Hours per Day: 7.5 hours
Days per Week: 4 days
Days per Year: 155 days (calendar)

Compensation: $19.54 – $24.75 per hour; salary steps 1–9 based on prior contracted educational experience; comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, and PERS retirement contributions.

The Life Skills Education Assistant (also known as a Para-Professional) works under the direction of a certified teacher to support students with disabilities. Successful candidates will observe a class and ask questions prior to formal offer.
Qualifications- Work under the direction of a certified teacher and assist in conducting lessons, setting up equipment and activities.
- Independently monitor and supervise special needs students in the classroom, between classes, and during lunch in small groups or one‑on‑one.
- Flexibility and initiative to encourage and nurture students.
- Patience and the ability to enforce good behavior and provide discipline with dignity.
- Physical ability to regularly stand, walk or sit on the floor while working with students in different settings.
- Physical ability to move, lift or restrain students as needed.
- Assist students with toileting routines and needs.
- Assist with meal times, including feeding students with a variety of abilities and offering tube feeding assistance.
- Provide medical support or intervention.
- Meet standards of the Life Skills Educational Assistant (Para-Professional).
