Support students with disabilities under the direction of a certified teacher. This role involves assisting with instructional activities, classroom management, and student support services.
Responsibilities- Work under the direction of a certified teacher and assist them in successfully conducting lessons, setting up equipment and activities.
- Independently monitor and supervise special needs students in the classroom, between classes and during lunch in small groups or one‑on‑one.
- Encourage and nurture students with flexibility and initiative.
- Enforce good behavior and provide discipline with dignity.
- Stand, walk or sit on the floor while working with students in different settings.
- Move, lift or restrain students as needed.
- Assist with toileting routines and needs.
- Help at meal times, including tube feeding support.
- Provide medical support or intervention as required.
- Meet the standards of the Life Skills Educational Assistant (Para‑Professional).
- Bilingual and biliterate candidates are encouraged to apply.

- Two years of college coursework or an associate's degree (may be waived pending successful performance on a skills test).
- High school diploma or GED required.
