Part-Time Psychology Instructor

Consider joining the Social Science and Human Services Department at Rogue Community College, where we value engaging teaching methods that inspire and involve students. We are currently seeking a part-time Psychology Instructor to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about collaborating to enhance student success, creating interactive learning experiences, and fostering a supportive learning environment that inspires students' critical thinking. Specifically, we are looking for instructors to teach:
- Psychology of Human Relations in person and/or online
- and/or General Psychology I and II in person and/or online.
Instructor is responsible for the planning and implementation of various psychology courses. Instructor is required to create a course syllabus, instruct students in the subject matter in accordance with that syllabus, maintain attendance records, assess student progress and evaluate course work for a letter grade. Instructor will maintain college standards in all aspects of professionalism, record keeping and instruction within the team atmosphere of the social science department of Rogue Community College.
Examplesof Duties - Essential Functions
Education:
A Master's Degree in psychology or related field is required. Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree. Ability to:
Communicate effectively, inclusively, interactively, engagingly, and respectfully with diverse students, staff, and community members; demonstrate experience or potential for innovation and creativity in both the classroom and in online; demonstrate a commitment to professional standards and growth. Pass a criminal background check. Knowledge of: current trends in research on subjects taught. Computer applications for communication and learning, including, but not limited to, word processing, the Internet, multi-media presentations, spreadsheets and database management;
curriculum development; the community colleges' mission, role in higher education, student population; and best practices for culturally responsive teaching.
Experience:
Successful teaching experience in a higher education setting. Licenses:
For assignments requiring operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License and proof of an acceptable driving record are required. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver's license within 30 days ( ORS 807.020 (1) ). Physical Demands:
