Overview:
The Program Assistant is responsible for ensuring a specific District program operates effectively and within District 7 guidelines. The Program Assistant works with limited to no teacher supervision and collaborates with District Administration. The specific areas of need are:
- Passion for working within an alternative education mindset.
- Form positive, professional relationships with all students
- Demonstrated ability to use trauma informed practice
- Knowledgeable in district curriculum for either Language Arts, Math, and/or Social Studies
- Social Emotional Learning knowledge base that reinforces district adopted Discovery Program and the current Gladiola Way
- Work effectively as part of a team of educators
Qualifications:
- Two years of post-secondary study.
- An Associate's (or Higher) degree.
- A passing score on a state or local assessment that measures knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $75 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $17.47-$25.23 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees
- 6 paid holidays per year
- 2 personal days per year
- 10 paid sick leave days per year
- Bereavement leave, as per bargaining agreement
- Continuing Education Funds, up to $1,200 per year
- Up to $1,624 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- $4,534 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees), $4,080.60 (4–6-hour employees)
- 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($1,000-$1,600).
