Real  (Limited Duration)

A limited‑duration appointment with the Oregon Department of Transportation, Driver and Motor Vehicles Division, in Grants Pass. The position is expected to end on or before June 30, 2027 and may become permanent. The role requires a dedicated, customer‑focused public service professional to manage and issue Real  identification cards.

• Assist the public with obtaining Real , instruction permits, and identification cards.
• Serve as a primary representative in the office for Real .
• Accurately produce photo licenses, instruction permits, and identification cards.
• Administer, correct, and explain driver license knowledge tests.
• Conduct vision tests and explain state and federal requirements for various driver and identification transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws and communicating clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real .
• Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials.
• Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day.
• Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work.

• Two (2) years of public contact/customer service experience involving in‑person or telephone interactions, or providing information about services or explaining rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
• Three (3) months of experience collecting money and making change.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute with a high level of accuracy (typing assessment will be conducted).
• Associate’s degree (substitutes for one year of the public contact experience).
• Demonstrated computer literacy and reading comprehension skills.
• Experience providing excellent customer service, handling multiple assignments with frequent interruptions, and effectively interpreting complex rules and policies to customers or clients.
