- Protect and serve the community as a member of the Grants Pass Police Department.
- Work rotating shifts including days, nights and weekends.
- Perform duties in patrol, motors (traffic), detectives, K‑9 and school resource officer units.
- Respond to high call volume in a fast‑paced environment.
Base Salary: $70,575 to $95,776 annually.
- Associate Degree: 2.5%
- Bachelor's degree: 5%
- Second language: 1.25%
- DPSST Intermediate Certificate: 2.5%
- DPSST Advanced Certificate: 3.0%
- Excellent medical, prescription, vision, and dental benefits with premium cost sharing.
- Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance equal to annual salary.
- Long‑term disability insurance.
- Health Reimbursement Account (HRA‑VEBA) with a contribution of $234 per month.
- Graduation from High School or GED and 1 year of work experience.
- Must be 21 years of age at time of hire.
- Meet physical standards set by the Department of Public Safety on Standards and Training (DPSST).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain an Oregon Class C Driver’s License within 30 days of employment.
- DPSST Basic Police Certificate within 12 months of employment.
- Law Enforcement Data System Certificate within 60 days of assignment.
- Residence within forty‑five (45) minutes from City limits as it exists within the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB).
- Pass ORPAT (physical ability) and firearms requirements prior to graduation at the Oregon DPSST Police Academy.
