Position SummaryThe Senior Payroll Specialist’s primary responsibility is to ensure data accuracy in payroll processing. This role serves as a resource for multiple companies within the Radius Recycling umbrella, demonstrating proficiency in timeliness, communication, and building positive inter-department relationships. The role promotes process enhancement and best practices in a team environment.
Salary Range$30 - $32 per hour
Essential Functions- Administer weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing through UKG systems, validating timeclock data from Kronos for accuracy.
- Conduct payroll audits prior to transmission and generate reports post-processing.
- Process manual checks in compliance with wage and hour regulations.
- Understand union contract provisions and stay updated on US pay policy regulations.
- Handle employee lifecycle changes with attention to detail.
- Resolve payroll inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate on compliance matters and escalate issues when necessary.
- Work with HR and management to address payroll concerns.
- Stay informed about tax and deduction law changes.
- Manage high-volume workloads while meeting deadlines.
- Use Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word, effectively.
- Support special projects as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years payroll processing experience, preferably with 500+ employees.
- Multi-State payroll experience; national preferred.
- Experience with large payroll providers; UKG experience preferred.
- Canadian payroll experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
Remote work with scheduled days at Portland headquarters, up to four times a month. Schedule may change based on business needs.
Physical ActivitiesAbility to sit, write, bend, stand, walk, and negotiate surfaces; communicate professionally; and perform detail work with visual acuity. Adaptability to organizational changes.
