General Foreman - Plywood Manufacturing

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the company in meeting its production goals by supervising all activities of employees on their assigned shift; ensures a safe and efficient work environment by communicating and managing Company established quality, production, safety and human resource policies.

MAJOR TASKS

* Supervises an assigned production and/or finish-end manufacturing process while managing staff (salaried and hourly), equipment, and materials to achieve the highest safety, quality and production levels.

* Resolves conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.

* Maintains quality control standards to maximize company profitability and achieve customer satisfaction.

* Regularly inspects the mill for maintenance and safety problems and then reports to the appropriate staff members.

* Conducts individual meetings and leads crew meetings to communicate pertinent information to employees.

* Completes administrative paperwork and reporting related to production reports, scheduling, personnel actions, payroll and safety.

* Participates in selection process and recommends applicants for hire.

* Uses independent judgment in identifying and establishing long and short-term work goals and organizing and directing resources needed to meet these goals.

* Responsible for supporting and enforcing company policies and procedures.
