RN Obstetrics Position Summary

As an RN for ATRMC's Obstetrics unit, you will be part of a team in an advanced birth center. The Family Birth Center has 12 beds, including 8 Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postnatal (LDRP) beds and 4 overflow beds for couplets, antepartum, and post‑C‑section couplets as needed. There is also a 3‑bed triage area. Nurse‑to‑patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 for couplets and 1:1 to 1:2 for labor patients based on acuities, with C‑sections at 1:1 until after the four‑hour recovery period.

All assignments follow AWHONN guidelines.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• Experience:
  
  Two years current RN experience in LDRP preferred; NICU experience preferred;
  One year RN experience required*
• Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  RN – Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing required upon start; BLS – Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider required upon start; NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program must be obtained within four months of hire
• Preferred
  
  Certifications:
  
  RNC‑OB; C‑EFM;
  Doula Certification; IBLCE
