What You’ll Be Doing As a PRN Hospice RN, you’ll provide additional clinical support based on patient and agency needs, including:
* Completing scheduled and PRN hospice nursing visits
* Performing comprehensive patient assessments
* Assessing and managing pain and other end-of-life symptoms
* Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders
* Educating patients and caregivers about medications, symptoms, disease progression, and comfort measures
* Supporting patients and families through changes in condition
* Coordinating with physicians, providers, pharmacies, DME companies, and other members of the care team
* Collaborating with the interdisciplinary hospice team
* Completing timely and accurate clinical documentation
* Helping ensure patients have the medications, equipment, supplies, and resources they need
* Providing additional coverage when census, acuity, vacations, or staffing needs require support
