Diesel Lube Tech
Southern Oregon Sanitation, in Grants Pass, OR has an immediate position open for a Diesel Lube Tech to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks.
Full-Time: 4/10 Schedule, Wednesday – Saturday, 7:00am – 4:30pm (Occasional OT as needed)

Starting pay at $26.94/hr

- Help to assist with repairs including but are not limited to, routine preventative maintenance and repairing engines, chassis, body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, and wheels/tires.
- Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition, operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.
- Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is a plus!
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
- Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.
- Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time;
Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position. - Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (Required)
- 1+ year of DIESEL lube tech or diesel maintenance experience (or completion of diesel tech program)
- Provide Personal Tools.
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English
- Basic knowledge of truck systems and hydraulics a plus
- Ability to follow directions, work safely, and learn quickly
