Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth

Family Solutions is seeking a Direct Care Counselor to support youth with significant emotional and behavioral needs in our Day Treatment Program
. In this role, you will help create a structured, therapeutic environment where youth can develop coping skills, build healthy relationships, and succeed in school and daily life.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Care Counselor, you will:

  • Build positive therapeutic relationships with youth in the program
  • Help implement individualized treatment and behavior support plans
  • Lead structured group activities and skill-building exercises
  • Support youth in managing emotions and behaviors in a safe environment
  • Document daily progress, attendance, and behavioral observations
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, IEPs, and care coordination meetings
  • Communicate with therapists, teachers, and families regarding youth progress
  • Assist with educational programming alongside teachers and staff
  • Safely transport youth to program activities when assigned
  • Use non-violent crisis intervention and physical restraint when necessary
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
  • Support daily routines including meals, snacks, and program activities
  • Follow all agency policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • OR
  • 3 years of education and/or experience working with youth or young adults

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass an ODHS background check

This role may involve:

  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the day
  • Participating in physical restraint and crisis intervention when necessary
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs during intervention situations
