Lead Financial Strategy for a Critical Access Hospital as CFO in Grants, NM

We are a critical access hospital located in a modern, 50,000‑square‑foot setting and staffed by a dedicated healing team well‑versed in the latest and best medical procedures. General surgery, 24‑hour emergency care, intensive care nursing, internal medicine, obstetrics, pathology, pediatric dentistry, podiatry, primary care and radiology are among the many services offered on‑site.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare accounting and will play a critical role in strategic decision‑making and operations as we continue to enhance our quality of care and meet our financial goals. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment to our mission and values and a willingness to adapt to and lead in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment.

• Oversee all financial operations of the company, including subsidiaries and foreign operations.
• Coordinate, analyze and report financial performance to management and board of directors.
• Prepare short‑ and long‑term financial forecasts for internal management and external parties.
• Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate with outside audit firms.
• Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for financial accounting, reporting, employee relations and other corporate policies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC rules, Sarbanes‑Oxley and related regulations.
• Manage corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance.
• Motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames while managing multiple projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; CPA, CMA or other related certification a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of senior financial managerial experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, other Office applications and accounting software.
• Strong problem‑solving and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to guide financial teams and collaborate with executives, staff and external stakeholders.
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
• Proven negotiation skills with banks and financial institutions.
