RN - OB Registered Nurse - Health Advocates Network is urgently hiring OB RNs with at least 1 year of recent experience! IMMEDIATE STARTS!

Registered Nurse I (RN I) is a compassionate, licensed professional who delivers safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care through the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate individualized patient education, guide and supervise ancillary team members, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and consistently uphold professional nursing standards. All practice must align with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.

Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes.
Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care. Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development. Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs.

General Qualifications
Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent).
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Education and clinical experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the assigned department.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages (pediatric through geriatric).Strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
Physical, Environmental & Psychological Considerations Frequent exposure to blood borne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials.
Work occurs primarily in a temperature-controlled hospital setting with occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations. Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment.
Ability to work effectively under stress, respond calmly to emergencies, and maintain strong problem-solving and coping skills. Team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations.

Department-Specific Qualifications Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required. OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months.

SAFER NM Technician certification preferred. Skilled in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment. Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
