Position: Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

$2692.80/week -

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse I (RN I) provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a Labor and Delivery setting. The role involves delivering comprehensive clinical support across peripartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring optimal outcomes for both mother and newborn.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients in labor and develop tailored care plans.
  • Deliver direct nursing care, including monitoring fetal well-being and maternal health during labor and postpartum.
  • Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring cultural sensitivity and health literacy.
  • Supervise and coordinate care with licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and ancillary staff.
  • Document all clinical interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required within established time frames.
  • Demonstrated skill in labor support, delivery, and neonatal assessment, with sterile technique proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills for high-stress clinical situations.
