How Will You Make an Impact?
As a Supplier Quality Technician at our Salt Lake City, UT facility
, you will ensure the quality and compliance of incoming materials and components by performing inspections, supporting supplier issue resolution, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will partner closely with suppliers and internal teams to uphold quality standards, improve supplier performance, and protect Jabil’s manufacturing processes through strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem‑solving.
On‑site at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.
What Will You Do?- Perform inspections on incoming materials and components to verify conformance to specifications and GMP (General Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
- Document and report inspection results; escalate non‑conformances promptly.
- Support investigations into supplier quality issues, including root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and documentation needs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining supplier‑related quality documentation such as inspection plans and records.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other Office tools to analyze data, track supplier performance, and prepare reports.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other internal teams to address quality concerns.
- Support inventory management of non‑conforming materials, including segregation and processing of returns.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies
, quality system requirements, and procedural guidelines. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supplier performance.
- Organize and prioritize daily tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of QC activities.
- Use strong problem‑solving skills to help resolve supplier‑related issues efficiently.
- Develop and maintain awareness of product and material requirements to support inspection accuracy.
- Manage returns management activities for non‑conforming supplier materials.
- Perform additional quality control checks in manufacturing areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree in a technical field preferred. - Experience in quality control, manufacturing, or supply chain preferred.
- Understanding of GMP (General Manufacturing Practices) and general quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with quality control processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to quickly develop and apply new product knowledge
. - Experience in returns management is a plus.
