Position Summary
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
As a Diesel Truck/Trailer Mechanic at Walmart Supply Chain, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tractor and trailer equipment. Your responsibilities include completing work orders with proper coding (e.g., reason for repair, detailed description of condition, cause, and correction), properly completing the warranty process, and ensuring safety, accuracy and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fleet equipment safely and correctly. Conduct failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds of fleet equipment components.
- Inform management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices, and suggest corrective actions.
- Identify and inform management of broken tools and missing supplies needed for repairs, and take steps to resolve issues when possible.
- Correctly complete complex work orders with proper coding (e.g., Reason for Repair (RFR), American Trucking Association (ATA)), description of condition, cause, and correction, including warranty return tags as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

- Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.

CompensationThe hourly wage range for this position is $28.20 – $31.70. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may be paid in the form of premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour, depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
