Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a team in Texas on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. This position focuses on applying payments accurately, maintaining organized financial records, and supporting daily receivables activity in a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid Excel skills, and the ability to keep cash posting activities current and well documented.

Responsibilities:

- Apply customer payments and cash receipts across multiple accounting areas with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.

- Review supporting payment documentation and gather remittance details when information is incomplete or missing.

- Maintain precise records of posted transactions and ensure account activity is updated consistently.

- Process a large volume of receivables-related entries while minimizing errors and delays.

- Support day-to-day cash application workflows to help keep outstanding items and backlogs under control.

- Enter and organize payment data in Excel and other tracking tools to maintain reliable reporting.

- Investigate discrepancies in payment application and work toward timely resolution.

- Assist with receivables operations tied to evolving processes or system-related updates when needed. Requirements - Experience in accounts receivable, including hands-on cash application responsibilities.

- Working knowledge of daily cash activity processing and payment posting procedures.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high transaction volumes accurately.

- Basic to intermediate Excel skills for data entry, tracking, and record maintenance.

- Ability to research remittance information and resolve incomplete payment details.

- Organized work style with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain timely processing.

- Clear communication skills and a dependable approach to routine financial operations.
