Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide district wide attendance support and oversight for all campuses. The Lead Attendance Support serves as a central resource for campus attendance personnel and assists with maintaining accurate student attendance and related PEIMS data in accordance with District procedures and applicable state requirements.
This position provides guidance, troubleshooting, training, data review, and operational support to campus staff regarding attendance processes, student records, reporting, and related student information system functions. The position works collaboratively with campuses and Central Administration departments to identify and resolve attendance and data issues and promote consistency in attendance practices across the District.
QualificationsEducation/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of experience in attendance, student records, data entry, PEIMS, or a related school district function
Experience working with student information systems preferred
Experience supporting multiple campuses or providing training to staff preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Knowledge of student attendance procedures and recordkeeping requirements
Knowledge of PEIMS data and related attendance reporting preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient keyboarding and computer skills
Ability to use spreadsheets, databases, and student information systems
Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and assist with resolution
Ability to interpret established procedures and communicate them clearly to campus staff
Ability to provide training and technical assistance to staff with varying levels of experience
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
MajorResponsibilities and Duties:
- Provide district wide support and assistance, including through the district ticketing system, to campus attendance clerks, registrars, administrators, and other staff regarding attendance procedures, student records, and related data.
- Review attendance and related student information system data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency across campuses.
- Assist campuses with identifying, researching, and resolving attendance discrepancies and data issues.
- Support the accurate collection, entry, verification, and maintenance of attendance and PEIMS-related data according to District procedures and applicable requirements.
- Serve as a central point of contact for campus staff regarding attendance processes, procedures, and related student information system questions.
- Provide training, demonstrations, and ongoing support to campus personnel regarding attendance procedures, data entry, reporting, and system functionality.
- Develop and maintain resources, instructions, procedures, and reference materials to support consistent attendance practices across the District.
- Prepare, review, and distribute attendance reports and other data as requested by Central Administration or campus administrators.
- Assist with district wide attendance audits, data reviews, compliance activities, and reporting processes.
- Monitor attendance-related issues and trends and communicate concerns or recurring issues to the appropriate Central Administration staff.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and review of district wide attendance procedures and processes.
- Collaborate with campus staff and Central Administration departments to resolve issues involving attendance, enrollment, student records, and related data.
- Assist with attendance-related state reporting and PEIMS processes, including researching and correcting errors or discrepancies as needed.
