Summary
Material Planner Assistant responsibilities include creating and tracking manufacturer orders based on material planner/analyst requests. The position works with the warehouse team to prioritize and complete escalated customer backorders. Responsibilities also include reviewing and resolving invoice discrepancies before payment is scheduled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Create manufacturer orders and transfer tickets for each manufacturing operation needed to produce the product.
- Meet with Production Control to determine the proper sequencing/priority of manufacturing operations.
- Review and validate invoices from vendors before bringing them to the Finance department.
- Work with the Buying team to resolve discrepancies on PO/SO/Invoices.
Warehouse Efficiencies (5% of job):
- Builds and maintains a positive work environment that is supported by open feedback and two‑way communication at all levels.
- Keeps the warehouse organized and clean at all times.
Team Building/Leadership (5% of job):
- Maintains a positive work environment while supporting the company’s culture.
- Fosters a healthy and safe work environment, focusing on the well‑being of all associates.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management.
- Minimum two years of related experience in manufacturing operations, SIOP, sourcing, or material management.
- Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal customers.
- Willingness to take direction and work independently.
- Demonstrated success in delivery, supply, and materials management solutions.
- End‑to‑end supply chain knowledge.
- Experience working in a cross‑functional, team‑oriented environment.
- Proficient use of ERP and forecasting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; self‑motivational.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Ability to organize and categorize work priorities to complete tasks.

Must tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a warehouse environment. Office and outside conditions can be hot in summer and cold in winter. Employees may need to walk for an extensive period, bend or stoop below the waist, reach over heights, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements. Ability to lift approx. 25 pounds is required.
