PrimaryPurpose:
The Instructional Support Specialist provides targeted push-in support in elementary math, reading, and science; delivers personalized instruction for students; uses effective instructional strategies; conducts student assessments to inform instruction; and collaborates with campus staff to improve student achievement in foundational skills.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience
Responsibilities and Duties:
Student & Teacher Support:
- Provide push-in instructional support using research-based literacy and math strategies.
- Deliver targeted interventions within the classroom, ensuring seamless integration with core instruction.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to diagnose student strengths and areas for growth.
- Support teachers in implementing Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions aligned with district instructional frameworks.
- Use assessment data to guide instructional decisions and support differentiated instruction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and the effectiveness of interventions.
- Communicate assessment results and instructional progress as needed.
- Stay current with research-based instructional practices in early literacy and numeracy.
- Engage in professional development to strengthen coaching and instructional skills.
- Serve as a resource for best practices in intervention and differentiated instruction.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families to support a culture of learning.
- Uphold district policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
This role is designed to elevate instructional quality and student outcomes by providing embedded, real-time support to teachers and students.
