- Board & System Repair Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and repairing failures at the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and system levels. This role focuses on identifying root causes of product failures, performing component-level and subsystem-level repairs, conducting detailed testing and analysis, and driving corrective actions to improve product reliability and manufacturing quality.
This position plays a critical role in supporting product performance and customer satisfaction within high-technology industries, including electronics, telecommunications, and consumer electronics.

The Failure Analysis Engineer
- Board & System Repair Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and repairing failures at the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and system levels. This role focuses on identifying root causes of product failures, performing component-level and subsystem-level repairs, conducting detailed testing and analysis, and driving corrective actions to improve product reliability and manufacturing quality.
This position plays a critical role in supporting product performance and customer satisfaction within high-technology industries, including electronics, telecommunications, and consumer electronics.

Failure Analysis- Conduct comprehensive investigations to determine the root causes of PCBA and system-level failures.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, physical, and material analyses of failed assemblies, systems, and components.
- Utilize analytical techniques to identify failure modes, mechanisms, and contributing factors.
- Interpret test data and experimental results to develop actionable conclusions and recommendations.
- Support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to improve product quality and reliability.
- Perform advanced component-level troubleshooting and diagnostics on PCBAs.
- Execute precision soldering, desoldering, and micro-soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components.
- Repair and replace defective components, including integrated circuits (ICs), resistors, capacitors, connectors, and other electronic devices.
- Verify restored functionality through testing and validation processes.
- Diagnose and isolate failures at the subsystem and system levels.
- Perform product disassembly and reassembly while ensuring no damage is introduced during the repair process.
- Replace defective modules, assemblies, or subsystems as required.
- Validate system functionality and performance following repairs.
- Design and execute tests to reproduce and characterize failure conditions.
- Utilize diagnostic and analytical equipment, including:
- X-Ray Systems
- Oscilloscopes
- Digital Multimeters
- Thermal Imaging Cameras
- Logic Analyzers
- Additional electronic test equipment as required
- Develop, maintain, and improve test methods, procedures, and failure analysis protocols.
- Evaluate product performance and identify opportunities for manufacturing and design improvements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports documenting analysis methods, findings, photographs, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate repair histories, failure analysis records, and maintenance documentation.
- Present technical findings and corrective action recommendations to engineering teams, management, customers, and stakeholders.
- Partner with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to improve product reliability and manufacturability.
- Provide technical feedback on product design, component selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and external laboratories when additional testing or analysis is required.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address recurring failures.
