LHH has partnered with a growing client in the service industry to hire an Accounting Manager in the Grapevine/Southlake area. This role will be hybrid after training with 1-2 days a week in office. The Accounting Manager will oversee revenue-related accounting activities and financial reporting for assigned business segments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can operate at both a tactical and strategic level, balancing execution with continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and manage the revenue accounting lifecycle, including month-end close activities, reconciliations, and revenue recognition accuracy
- Lead the Accounts Receivable team, overseeing invoicing, cash application, collections activity, dispute resolution, and reporting
- Own preparation and delivery of financial statements, management reporting packages, and supporting schedules
- Analyze revenue performance and gross margin trends to identify risks, variances, and optimization opportunities
- Perform detailed balance sheet account reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Oversee reimbursable billing processes, including expense validation, invoice preparation, and reconciliation between reimbursable costs and revenue
- Interpret customer contracts to ensure billing practices align with contractual terms and revenue policies
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gain operational insight and improve financial visibility across assigned business units
- Support tax-related reporting requirements, including sales/use tax, gross receipts filings, revenue apportionment, and unclaimed property submissions
- Serve as a key finance liaison for internal leadership and external partners, providing timely insights and ad hoc analysis
- Establish team goals, performance metrics, and development plans to strengthen staff capabilities and execution
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, and standardize accounting procedures
- Coordinate audit support activities and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables
- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and internal governance requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience
- 1+ years of direct people management or team leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and revenue-related accounting standards
- Experience with project-based or contract accounting strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis tools
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and think strategically
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience coaching and developing staff
- Self-directed professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
