The Vice President of Finance is a senior financial leader responsible for building and leading the company s finance organization within a public company operating environment. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across financial reporting, accounting, FP&A, compliance, and financial governance. This role requires deep public accounting experience, strong knowledge of US GAAP, and hands‑on experience with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
The VP of Finance will play a critical role in strengthening financial discipline, enhancing reporting processes. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic financial leadership and hands‑on execution, with experience maintaining and enhancing public‑company‑level processes, controls and reporting standards.
- Lead and oversee all finance and accounting functions, including accounting operations, financial reporting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax and compliance.
- Build and scale financial infrastructure, policies, and processes to support pre‑IPO readiness and long‑term growth.
- Ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Leverage public accounting experience to establish best‑in‑class accounting policies, procedures, and governance standards.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, driving consistency, accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead preparation for SOX compliance, including internal control design, documentation, testing and remediation in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, advisors, and consultants, including readiness assessments and audit planning.
- Partner with FP&A and executive leadership to drive budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, and financial modeling to support strategic decision making.
- Provide executive leadership with clear financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations.
- Support capital planning, cash flow management, and financial risk assessments as the company prepares for public‑company expectations.
- Lead, mentor and develop high‑performing finance and accounting teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive system implementations, process automation, and data integrity initiatives to enable scalability.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Legal, Operations, IT, and HR to align financial controls and compliance efforts.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Strong hands‑on experience with SEC reporting requirements and SOX compliance in a public company environment.
- Proven leadership experience in complex, fast‑paced, and growing organizations.
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems;
Quick Books Enterprise experience preferred. - Exceptional Excel skills are a must, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

- Bachelor s degree from a regionally accredited university in Accounting, or Finance required.
- Minimum 8‑12 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including public company experience.
- CPA required.
- Prior experience in Big 4 or large public accounting firm strongly preferred.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of spaces to include cubicle, counter, and or desk areas.
- Must be able to move boxes or other items weighing up to twenty‑five pounds.
