CompensationSalary: $125,000 - $150,000 per year.
Job DetailsWe are seeking a high‑caliber Senior Associate (or Manager) to join our elite commercial tax consulting practice. This is not a “compliance‑heavy” in‑house role; it is a strategic leadership position focused on delivering sophisticated tax solutions for a premier Fortune 100 client base.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Client Leadership:
Serve as the primary technical advisor for high‑profile Fortune 100/50 client accounts, managing multi‑year relationships and complex project life cycles. - Audit Defense & Reverse Audits:
Lead and oversee comprehensive Sales and Use tax recovery projects and manage complex audit defense engagements to mitigate exposure and maximize cash flow for clients. - Technical Advisory:
Provide expert‑level guidance on multi‑jurisdictional tax complexities, including nexus studies, taxability research, and transactional planning. - Practice Development:
Drive the growth of the Indirect Tax practice by identifying new service opportunities within existing accounts and mentoring a high‑performing team of managers and seniors. - Legislative Oversight:
Monitor and analyze emerging tax legislation (Wayfair, etc.) to proactively advise clients on potential impacts to their global operations.
- Experience:
6+ years of progressive experience in Indirect Tax (Sales and Use) within a Big 4 accounting firm or a specialized tax consulting boutique. - Credentials: CPA, JD, or LLM is preferred.
- Technical Mastery:
Deep, proven expertise in Reverse Audits, Audit Defense, and multistate Sales & Use Tax laws. - Relationship Management:
Proven track record of managing and growing relationships with large, complex multinational corporations. - Leadership:
Natural ability to lead engagement teams and mentor junior staff in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
