Patient Service Specialist (Patient Service Representative)

Grapevine, TX

$18.00/hour

Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join a busy outpatient therapy clinic. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting daily front office operations.

The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong customer service and administrative backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

+ Greet and check in patients

+ Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions

+ Schedule and confirm appointments

+ Complete patient registration and intake

+ Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations

+ Collect copays and patient payments

+ Maintain accurate patient records and data entry

+ Scan, fax, and organize patient documentation

+ Support clinical staff with administrative needs

+ Assist with cash balancing and front office operations

+ Provide outstanding customer service to patients and staff

Required Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Strong customer service experience

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

+ Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

+ Medical, dental, or healthcare front office experience

+ Insurance verification experience

+ Scheduling and patient registration experience

+ Administrative experience in a high-volume office setting

Schedule

+ Full-time, Monday through Friday

+ 8-hour shifts with a 1-hour lunch break

+ Rotating schedules between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday

+ Fridays operate between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM

+ Occasional flexibility for schedule adjustments may be available, but regular attendance during assigned hours is expected

Work Environment

+ On-site in Grapevine, TX

+ High-volume, multi-discipline outpatient clinic

+ Supports more than 600 patient visits per week

+ Fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking and customer service skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grapevine, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
