Desktop Technician (Full Time, Contract-to-Hire; Hybrid in Grapevine, TX)
Optomi, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a Desktop Technician to support end-user environments in a hybrid role based in North Texas. This position focuses on providing hands‑on desktop and end‑user support across Windows‑based environments, with a small Mac footprint. The Desktop Technician will play a key role in resolving user issues, provisioning accounts, configuring devices, and supporting day‑to‑day IT operations across multiple client environments.
This role will collaborate closely with internal IT teams and directly interface with end users, leveraging ticketing systems and device management tools to deliver a professional, reliable support experience.
- Provide desktop and end‑user support for Windows and limited Mac environments.
- Create and manage user accounts in Active Directory and Office 365, including mailbox setup and permissions updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops and laptops, including printers, applications, and connectivity.
- Install and configure new devices, including physical setup of workstations and peripheral equipment.
- Manage and close tickets in Connect Wise or other ITSM platforms, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Support device management initiatives as the team transitions MDM platforms.
- Interface directly with clients and internal stakeholders in a professional, customer‑focused manner.
- 2+ years of experience providing desktop or service desk support in a Windows environment.
- Hands‑on experience with Active Directory user provisioning, password resets, and permissions management.
- Familiarity with Office 365 admin portals, including mailbox creation and Outlook configuration.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows 10/11 devices, printers, software installations, and mapped network drives.
- Exposure to ticketing systems such as Connect Wise, Service Now, or similar ITSM platforms.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP configuration, VPN connectivity, and drive mapping.
- Experience supporting Mac devices and familiarity with MDM tools such as Jamf or Ninja is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with non‑technical users.
