As the Director of Product Development at Yusen Logistics, you will spearhead enhancing the Yusen Vantage platform, focusing on creating a comprehensive visibility solution that strengthens our competitive position.

Your role will involve leading the development and integration of essential Supply Chain Management products, including IFF
, Order Management
, Warehouse Management Systems
, Transload
, and Drayage
. You will define a clear strategic technical direction to ensure these products are seamlessly developed and integrated into the Yusen Vantage platform. Collaboration will be at the heart of your role as you work closely with developers, designers, and business partners to identify and address the needs of customers and partners. Your role will involve aligning perspectives across diverse stakeholders, including Customers, Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Managers, Development teams, and Technical Architects.

• Strategic Leadership: Define and implement a clear technical strategy for the Yusen Vantage platform, focusing on integrating and enhancing essential Supply Chain Management products.
• Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end development and integration of essential products, ensuring seamless functionality within the X Vantage platform; manage product lifecycle from concept to deployment and maintenance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with developers, designers, and business partners to gather and translate requirements into actionable development plans; facilitate effective communication across teams.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with Customers, Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Managers, Development teams, and Technical Architects to understand needs and integrate perspectives into product development; balance expectations with technical feasibility.
• Product Integration: Drive the integration of global forwarding data (IFF), order tracking (Order Management), real-time inventory updates (WMS), transload operations data, and drayage visibility into a cohesive visibility solution; ensure harmonious operation within the platform.
• Technical Expertise & Governance: Provide strategic technical direction, troubleshoot complex issues, stay current with industry trends, and establish governance for microservices development.
• Dev Ops & Quality: Oversee Dev Ops practices to ensure performant, secure, scalable, and reliable deployments; implement and enforce best practices for product development and integration; monitor and improve product performance.
• Strategic Planning & Reporting: Develop and execute strategic product development and integration plans with clear objectives and milestones; provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
• Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment; mentor, support professional growth, and encourage continuous improvement.
• Customer & Market Focus: Gather and analyze customer feedback and market trends to inform product development; prioritize features based on demand to enhance platform value.

• 10+ years managing technical staff including 10+ years leading a software development team
• 8+ years of programming experience in custom software analysis, design and development
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and work experience
• 5+ years experience managing 3rd party consultants and/or offshore team
• Solid track record of enterprise IT experience or substantial professional services experience delivering cloud solutions
• Proficiency in enterprise software development with Java, Python, .NET and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular/Typescript
• Experience deploying to cloud-based environments; strong understanding of cloud concepts (IAM, networking, containers, serverless)
