About the RoleThe Demand Planner is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels by balancing inventory investment with fill rate and customer service objectives. This role manages demand forecasting and replenishment activities, including reviewing forecast exceptions and developing forecasts for new, slow-moving, and quality-affected parts.
The Demand Planner leads Parts New Model Launch readiness activities, ensuring parts availability for successful product introductions. This position analyzes unexpected demand trends, researches inventory requirements, and maintains planning parameters to ensure system recommendations align with supplier ordering requirements. Through detailed part-level analysis, the Demand Planner supports achievement of inventory, fill rate, and operational performance goals while driving forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.
WhatYou’ll Do
This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures, and guidelines:
- Manage forecast of high volume and new parts and monitor inventory levels to achieve customer fill rate and inventory objectives.
- Develop historical trends, "like" Products and Parts, and Sales and Marketing data to apply a best fit forecast to achieve fill rate and inventory objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of service parts new model launch process and achieve product launch readiness objectives.
- Manage inventory management solutions such as forecasting, stock level, replenishment and deployment.
- Initiate and improve demand planning processes, fill rates, inventory performance, and supply chain costs.
- Primary area of focus will be on new model launch, early life and end of life Parts.
- Analyze part master data including lead times, price, and supplier sourcing requirements.
- Monitor, generate and interpret results of reports necessary to support parts availability and fill rates.
- Produce detailed analysis with organized conclusions for presentation.
- Demonstrate cross-functional supply chain knowledge with the ability to provide overall supply guidance to other functional areas (Service, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, IT, etc.).

- What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial or Supply Chain Engineering from an accredited University preferred:- In lieu of a degree at least 5 years of inventory management or supply chain management education and/or experience required.
- With a degree at least 3 years of inventory management required.
- Expert knowledge of Aftermarket Service Parts. Knowledge of the industrial, Agricultural or Construction industries is preferred.
- SAP ERP (APO, WM, BW), forecasting-planning systems, and warehouse management systems experience is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of Inventory Management philosophies.
- Technical knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft office programs.
- Knowledgeable in statistical programming software (R, SAS or Tableau).
Must possess sufficient mobility and physical reflexes to function effectively in an office environment and perform the duties outlined above.
