Job Description :
- The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities to ensure a safe, sanitary, and well‑maintained environment.
- This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and compliance with all safety, security, and quality standards.
- Clean and maintain buildings and facilities.
- Perform heavy cleaning duties including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors following proper procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment.
- Utilize ladders to dust and wash furniture, walls, blinds, ceilings, light fixtures, and vents.
- Remove stains from carpets, drapes, walls, and floors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Prepare cleaning solutions per specifications.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean and vacuum carpeted areas, including spot treatment.
- Gather trash and dispose of it in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
- Clean and wipe tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, furniture, and fixtures.
- Service, clean, and restock restrooms.
- Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors.
- Maintain janitor closets and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Monitor building security and safety, including locking doors and checking for hazards.
- Notify managers of required minor or major repairs.
- Drive vehicles to other facilities for cleaning when required.
- Provide special cleaning support during client events.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility or security credentials.
- Ability to comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards.
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, stretching, reaching, and wrist movement.
- Ability to walk extensively during the shift.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work at an accelerated pace during emergency conditions.
- Ability to differentiate colors for color‑coded cleaning supplies.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment including steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
