YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
RoleThe Procurement Team Lead will manage a work group responsible for the procurement of engineered equipment, commodities, permanent plant materials, and small tools and supplies. This position is a working manager role that will execute contractual obligations while providing oversight, support, and mentorship to Procurement Agents and Sr. Procurement Agents.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Monitor, evaluate, and mentor the team on meeting or exceeding performance goals and expectations.
- Ensure the team complies with procurement policies and procedures and adheres to documentation requirements.
- Oversee and plan all aspects of procurement from pre-bid to closeout.
- Manage people and projects within the assigned Region to pursue cost savings opportunities while implementing process standardization efficiencies.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff and provide performance evaluation input to the Regional Procurement Manager.
- Support estimating by contacting suppliers for budgetary quotations for materials and equipment in the preparation of bids.
- Represent the company in contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with equipment and material suppliers, consulting with corporate attorneys and senior management on project risk and commercial competitiveness.
- Monitor and oversee the execution of the competitive bid process via RFPs or RFQs for the team.
- Responsible for the qualification and evaluation process for suppliers of materials and equipment.
- Lead aggregated sourcing events across regions as needed to drive procurement value.
- Collaborate with the Center of Excellence on larger category strategy initiatives to increase margin and efficiency.
- Review internal and external metrics for suppliers, procurement, and operations to ensure targets are met; identify root causes and mitigation actions with the Regional Procurement Manager.
- Ensure recommended awards align with the approved decision model and Delegation of Authority to adhere to procurement policies and procedures.
- Maintain mutual beneficial relationships with suppliers through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Provide feedback and assist in market analysis and delivery systems assessment of present and future material availability.
- Communicate and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
- Responsible for projections, financial planning, delivery schedules, and procurement reporting.
- Develop and review procurement analytics, reporting, and deliverables.
- Oversee the development and implementation of procurement and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Review materials for accuracy upon receipt and enter documentation into the purchasing system.
- Review and approve invoices with vendor and A/P resolution of invoice problems.
- Oversee the development and use of 3rd-party Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA).
- Oversee the return of material and ensure proper and timely credit to the project.
- Note that duties may evolve based on scope requirements and customer demands throughout the corporation.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical and construction fields.
- Experience with procurement processes and accounting.
- Ability to delegate work effectively and balance overseeing people and projects as a working manager.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Supervisory experience with mentoring Procurement Agents and Sr. Procurement Agents.
- Ability to work with supervision and adapt to team needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Ability to analyze tasks and adapt as necessary.
- Ability to adapt to process improvement initiatives and maintain composure under pressure.
- Effective oral and written communication for the position.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
- Professional interaction with employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and others.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5 years electrical procurement experience
- Combination of education, training, and relevant experience
- Up to 10%
- General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions.
