Job Overview
Growing multi‑location retail and service organization seeks a Controller to lead accounting, reporting, controls, audit readiness, and IPO preparation efforts. CPA, Big 4 foundation, public company experience, and prior Controller leadership required.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead all accounting operations across a multi‑location organization
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure GAAP‑compliant financial reporting
- Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Support external audits, tax advisors, lenders, and banking relationships
- Build public‑company readiness, including SOX controls and reporting infrastructure
- Mentor and develop a growing accounting team
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and organizational scalability
- CPA required
- Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred
- Previous Controller experience required
- Public company accounting experience required
- Experience supporting multi‑location organizations
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Experience leading accounting teams in complex operating environments
- Ability to partner with executive leadership and Board‑level stakeholders
- Prior retail, dealership, distribution, service, or other multi‑site operating experience preferred
- Base salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per year
- Target bonus: 20%
- Future equity participation anticipated upon progression into executive leadership
