Corporate Controller

Job Overview

Growing multi‑location retail and service organization seeks a Controller to lead accounting, reporting, controls, audit readiness, and IPO preparation efforts. CPA, Big 4 foundation, public company experience, and prior Controller leadership required.

• Lead all accounting operations across a multi‑location organization
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Ensure GAAP‑compliant financial reporting
• Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Support external audits, tax advisors, lenders, and banking relationships
• Build public‑company readiness, including SOX controls and reporting infrastructure
• Mentor and develop a growing accounting team
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and organizational scalability

• CPA required
• Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred
• Previous Controller experience required
• Public company accounting experience required
• Experience supporting multi‑location organizations
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Experience leading accounting teams in complex operating environments
• Ability to partner with executive leadership and Board‑level stakeholders
• Prior retail, dealership, distribution, service, or other multi‑site operating experience preferred

• Base salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per year
• Target bonus: 20%
• Future equity participation anticipated upon progression into executive leadership
