Description The Failure Analysis Engineer uses procedures and instructions to initiate the analysis process when product failure occurs. Investigations are researched for root causes with analysis documented, recorded, and communicated internally and with the client company. The engineer is responsible for first‑level failure analysis on customer‑returned Server/Workstation computers.
Data Analysis, Communication, and Issue Resolution- Have appropriate knowledge of the systems, tools, and procedures used in failure analysis.
- Be proficient in a large number of applications used for database management and reporting.
- Perform visual mechanical inspection (VMI) of computer systems, components, and subcomponents.
- Follow procedures and diagrams when performing engineering change orders.
- Complete component‑level troubleshooting and failure analysis of capacitors, resistors, fuses, ICs, diodes, etc.
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair complex system failures as required.
- Assemble and disassemble units, components, and subcomponents.
- Communicate, problem‑solve, and apply experience and expertise.
- Complete sample analysis for equipment and process qualifications.
- Identify optimum analytical approaches critical to problems.
- Conduct innovative use of new analytical tools, equipment, and methodologies.
- Develop records and perform various failure analyses to identify root causes.
- Develop formal failure analysis data reports and present internally and to clients; coordinate with the Asia team via email and conference calls.
- Work inside customer labs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Strengthen internal, external customer, and supplier relationships and communicate effectively with all business partners.
- Ensure inventory management and merchandise allocation flow products through the warehouse efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer/Server repair, or a related field;
Associate’s degree acceptable with relevant experience. - 0–2 years experience in a FA role or 4+ years in electronics quality inspection.
- Comprehensive computer knowledge is essential.
- Proficient with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
- Stay current on developments in field of expertise, regulatory requirements, client products, markets, and industry trends.
- Must be able to speak English;
Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Knowledge of computer software and operating systems; ability to identify and perform software updates (OS, BIOS, drivers, firmware).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, system board views, and board layout details.
- Effectively communicate concepts and solutions at all organizational levels.
- Act as liaison between company and client.
- Work cross‑functionally with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- Flexible to work overtime for special projects or business support.

Environment is climate‑controlled. Requires ability to reach over shoulder heights, bend or stoop below the waist, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements. Occasional lifting up to 45 pounds and working in a loud noise environment.
