Department SpecificsLevel II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center with LVO capability, Chest Pain Center, Robust EMS Partnership, CT Scanner within the ED, Collaborative relationship with Physicians, Self‑scheduling, Certified Emergency Nurse fees paid, Evidence‑Based Practices, Trauma Training, Triage Training, Stroke Certification.

Experience Requirement1 year of recent hospital acute care ED experience.
Job SummaryAs a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions of the Role- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans and adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
- Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism to support therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Create care plans that reflect values and aid in resolving issues.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to create a care plan; delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use different strategies for problem‑solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers’ development and community service commitment.
- A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in the area. Familiarity with hospital procedures and rules.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects.
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
- Excellent problem‑solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
- Graduate of an accredited program.
- Specialized field of study: nursing.
- RN license.
- Must possess BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting in this role.
- Experience requirement: 1 year of recent hospital acute care ED experience.
