Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at our Grapevine, TX location. This position supports the Infusion Department and is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (hours 8:30 AM–5:00 PM) with no weekends, calls, or major holidays. What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do?Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences across the patient population, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management of patient and family needs, and supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administer all medications and blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time, and technique.
- Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
- Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patient labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dosage, and discussing modifications with the physician as needed.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
- Minimum 0–3 years of RN experience; entry, mid, or senior level candidates considered.
- Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
The work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical RequirementsFull range of body motion is required, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extensive periods is necessary. Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 lb is required. Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range are also required.
