We're on the lookout for energetic and dedicated individuals to join our Lake Parks family as a Lake Parks Assistant II. Get ready for an exciting summer where you'll assist in planning, organizing, and leading various recreational programs, camps, and activities.

As a Lake Parks Assistant II you will bring the fun to life by implementing the daily operations of seasonal day camps and give direction to staff to accomplish daily camp activities. You will have the opportunity to be the mastermind behind recreational programs and activities for school-age children this summer!
- As assigned, assist in planning, organizing and leading various recreational programs, camps, activities, special events and projects associated with Lake Parks.
- Coordinate with City departments, community organizations, volunteers and school districts regarding facility availability and scheduling.
- Provide quality customer service at all times; greet public, answer telephone, provide information and register participants.
- Abide by City safety and health codes and ordinances.
- Drive City vehicles as needed; may be required to transport program materials and people and for various errands.
- Operate point of sale system as needed.
- Use cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops and brushes and cleaning supplies.
- Prepare room/facility for reservation/program prior to event or program, clean the room/facility at the end of reservation/program and prepare for next rental/program.
- Complete various reports and submit them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure the safety of all visitors and participants in programs and facilities; ensure safety protocols are being adhered to.
- Perform related duties as directed when such duties are logical and appropriate to the position.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
- Interact professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.
- Must have High School Diploma or GED and be 18 years old.
- Ability to have a blast outdoors, even in high heat and humidity.
- Physical ability to set up tables, chairs, and equipment needed for camps.
- Leadership skills to coordinate staff and school-age children.
- Flexibility to work various times, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfort with Windows-based computer systems.
- Must have or obtain American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, First Aid and AED certification before the first week of being placed on the work schedule. All certification trainings are offered through the City of Grapevine.
- Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check. Positions with assignments that require handling money will be required to pass a credit check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
